Professional development for language teachers

¿Quieres ser profesor de español?

The Instituto Cervantes of Los Angeles offers the Spanish language teaching community the opportunity to continue developing professionally on a regular basis.

The design of our courses aims for teachers to improve their practice and transform their teaching identity as they learn to teach a foreign or heritage language. To achieve this goal, our course offerings require participants to actively engage and integrate theory and practice from the very beginning.

You can write to us at acla@cervantes.org to learn about the teacher training program for Spanish teachers at the Instituto Cervantes of Los Angeles, or to request a customized course for your center or educational institution. Becoming Accredited as a DELE Examiner

To become accredited as an examiner for the DELE exam tests, it is necessary to have the appropriate qualifications and to have completed the required training.

Requirements to Become a DELE Examiner

  • Hold a higher university degree.
  • Have specific training in Spanish teaching.
  • Have experience teaching Spanish.
  • For non-native Spanish-speaking teachers:
    • Have a degree in Hispanic Philology or a DELE C1 Diploma to participate in A and B level exams;
    • Have a degree in Hispanic Philology or a DELE C2 Diploma to participate in C level exams.
  • Have successfully completed the corresponding DELE examiner accreditation course.

Accreditation Courses

DELE examiner accreditation is only possible through a training course, which aims to provide in-depth knowledge of the DELE exam, as well as how to administer and evaluate the oral test.

Upon successfully completing a course, you will receive your examiner number, which you will use to identify yourself in DELE examination panels in the various annual calls. Each course provides accreditation for the indicated levels, and this accreditation is internationally recognized.

The Instituto Cervantes offers four accreditation courses within its teacher training program:

  • Accreditation Course for DELE Examiners A1 – A2/B1 Schools
  • Accreditation Course for DELE Examiners A1 – A2
  • Accreditation Course for DELE Examiners B1 – B2
  • Accreditation Course for DELE Examiners C1 – C2
