Professional development for language teachers

The Instituto Cervantes of Los Angeles offers Spanish language teachers the opportunity to continue their professional development on a regular basis.

Our courses are designed to help teachers improve their teaching practice and transform their professional identity as they learn how to teach Spanish as a foreign or heritage language. To achieve this goal, our training programs require participants to engage actively and integrate theory and practice from the very beginning.

Program: 

Become a DELE Examiner

To become accredited as a DELE examiner, candidates must meet the appropriate profile requirements and complete the corresponding training.

Requirements to Become a DELE Examiner

• Hold a university degree.
• Have specialized training in teaching Spanish.
• Have experience teaching Spanish.
• For non-native Spanish-speaking teachers:
  • Hold a degree in Hispanic Studies or a DELE C1 Diploma to participate in A and B level examinations.
  • Hold a degree in Hispanic Studies or a DELE C2 Diploma to participate in C level examinations.
• Have successfully completed the appropriate DELE examiner accreditation course.

Accreditation Courses

DELE examiner accreditation is only available through successful completion of a training course. The purpose of these courses is to provide an in-depth understanding of the DELE examination, as well as how to administer and assess the oral test.

Upon successful completion of a course, you will receive your examiner number, which you will use to identify yourself on DELE examination boards during the various annual examination sessions. Each course provides accreditation for the levels indicated. This accreditation is internationally recognized.
