Diplomas DELE

These are official titles of indefinite duration that certify a person's level of Spanish proficiency, regardless of where or how they learned it.

The DELE Spanish diplomas are awarded by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Professional Training. To obtain them, the candidate must pass the DELE exam at the desired level.

DELE exams are graded on a PASS/FAIL basis, and the various tests are designed to assess the person's overall communicative competence in Spanish (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking).

When registering, candidates can choose which level of Spanish they want to certify from the six available, established according to the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

DELE Diplomas for Young Learners

These diplomas are specific titles aimed at students between the ages of 11 and 17.

To obtain them, candidates must also pass an exam whose topics are tailored to candidates of these ages.

When registering, candidates can choose between level A1 or level A2-B1.

SIELE Certificates

These certificates certify the level of Spanish proficiency of a person, regardless of where or how they learned the language. They are promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), the University of Salamanca (USAL), and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), in addition to having the support and collaboration of more than 80 Ibero-American institutions.

SIELE certifies the level of proficiency in the Spanish language through four tests, which are carried out electronically: Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension, Written Expression and Interaction, and Oral Expression and Interaction. It is based on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.

The SIELE exams are not linked to a PASS/FAIL qualification, but rather their tests produce a result associated with one of the six levels of the CEFR: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or C2.
