What makes the processing of your data legitimate?
The legal basis for the above mentioned usage — the sending of promotional material — is your express consent.
How long will we keep your data?
Your personal data will be retained until you ask for it to be deleted or withdraw the consent you have granted.
Who will be sent your data?
The Instituto Cervantes will not provide your data to third parties, except when under legal obligation to do so.
What are your rights in relation to data processing?
At any time, you may exercise your rights of access, modification, objection, data portability, processing limitation and deletion of the data you have given us, by contacting the Instituto Cervantes by email to rgpd@cervantes.es, by post to c/ Alcalá, n.º 49, Madrid 28014 (España), or in person at the address indicated.
You have the right to obtain confirmation on how your data is being processed, to access your personal data, to request the correction of data that may be inaccurate or, where appropriate, to request its deletion when, among other reasons, the data may no longer be necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or you withdraw your consent.
In some cases, you may request a limitation on how your data is used, so we would only retain it in accordance with current guidelines; in other cases, you may exercise your right to the portability of your data, which would be handed over in a structured format in common usage or machine readable, to you or to another party responsible for its processing as directed by you.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time to any of the uses you have approved.
The Instituto Cervantes has forms for the exercise of your rights which can be requested by email from rgpd@cervantes.es or you can use those prepared by the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos or by third parties. These forms must be signed electronically or be accompanied by a photocopy of your national identity document or passport. If you are acting via an intermediary, the request must also be accompanied by a copy of his/her national identity document or passport, with an electronic signature.
You are entitled to make a complaint to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos should you feel your rights have not been properly attended to. The maximum period to resolve a request is one month from its receipt, which can be extended for a further two months depending on the number of requests received and their complexity.
If any of your data changes, we would be grateful if you could duly let us know in writing so that we can keep your data up to date.
